How do I publish a legal ad?

The publication of a legal announcement is mandatory to inform the public about the major stages of a business' life: the creation, modification or cessation of activity. It must be inserted in a medium authorized to receive legal announcements (SHAL): it is either a legal announcement journal (JAL) or an online press service (SPEL).

All businesses (SARL, SA, SAS, etc.) shall insert into a legal advertising medium (Shal) at the time of their creating and during the cessation of their activity.

They must also publish a legal announcement in case of change in the business: this is the case during a change of leader, of a change of corporate object, of a transfer of registered office, of a capital increaseetc.

On the other hand, craftsmen and traders who practice under the status ofIS, EIRL, micro-entrepreneur) and EIG are not affected by this obligation.

You must make a request for publication with a Legal Announcement Log (JAL) or a online press service (SPEL) qualified in the department where the business' head office is located.

Your request for publication must include the following information:

Company name of the business
Acronym of the business
Shape of the business
Amount of share capital
Address of the registered office
Social object
Duration of business
Name of the officer(s)
Indication of the register at which the business will be registered

FYI

The advertisements published in the online media (SPEL) remain displayed for at least 7 days from their publication on the homepage of the site.

After the legal announcement has been published, the Shal provide the business with a certificate of publication.

All the ads published in the authorized media (SHAL) can be consulted in a central digital database: company Legal Advertising Portal (PPLE).

or the flat rate for announcements of incorporation, dissolution and closure of liquidation
or depending on the number of characters in the other cases

Package price

The price of a legal announcement is set at package (i.e. a fixed amount) in a number of cases. For example:

Deed of appointment of liquidators and notice of closing of liquidation of civil and commercial businesses in connection with dissolution
Judgment opening or closing a collective procedure (safeguarding, recovery and liquidation)

The price depends on the type of ad, the legal shape of the business and the department in which the ad is published.

Announcements relating to more than one of the modifications for which a flat rate is provided shall be subject to character pricing.

Rate per character

Where flat-rate pricing is not provided for, the price of the legal advertisement depends on its length.

This is the case, for example, in the event of a change of registered office, an increase or reduction in capital, a change in corporate purpose, etc.

The rate is then set according to the number of characters in the ad. The total number of characters in the ad, including spaces, must be multiplied by the price of the character.

The price of the character varies depending on the department in which the seat of the business is located.
