The terms of the personal training account changed on 21 February. You can still use it to finance apprenticeships to get a driver's license, provided you comply with certain eligibility rules. Public Service introduces you to these new conditions.

The rights to a personal training account (CPF) may be used, subject to conditions, for the preparation of the theoretical and practical tests of the driving license.

Since February 21, 2026, if you wish to mobilize your CPF to finance training related to a light group driving license (license A1, A2, B1 , B or BE), you must be:

  • a job seeker registered at France Travail ;
  • or an employee who also receives funding from a third party of at least €100 to prepare this type of driving license (this funding can come from your employer if you are an employee, from a region, from the State, from a skills operator - Opco, from a training insurance fund or from the fund for the integration of disabled people into the public service, as well as from rights from the prevention professional account or from AT/MP rights - or occupational disease, etc.).

You cannot use more than €900 of your CPF to finance this preparation the theoretical and practical tests of a driving license of the light group.

Warning

The new eligibility rules are not yet integrated into the My Training Account platform. In any case, if you are not eligible, your file will be canceled after your application for registration via the CPF to a driving license training. Checks are carried out on all applications for registration. Following the cancelation of your file, your CPF rights will be credited, and any remaining expenses paid during registration will be refunded to you.

All holders of a personal training account may, on the other hand, still use it to prepare the theoretical and practical tests for a driving license for heavy goods vehicles or passenger transport (licenses C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D and DE).

Please note

The Personal Training Account cannot be used, regardless of your status, to:

  • a driving refresher course;
  • a points recovery course;
  • Hours of driving to switch from using a manual gearbox to an automatic gearbox, or vice versa;
  • additional hours of preparation for a driving license that was not initially subscribed through your training account;
  • the 7-hour training that allows holders of the B license to drive motorized two- or three-wheelers;
  • any personal project not related to a professional objective.
