Verified 13 August 2026 - Entreprendre Service Public / (Prime Minister)
The aid for the recovery and creation of a company (Arce) is a financial aid paid by France Travail (formerly Job center) to company creators or buyers. It consists in receiving part of his unemployment benefits in the form of capital and under conditions. The amount of the Arce is 60% entitlements to the return-to-work (ARE) allowance which remain to be paid.
The Arce is for persons registered with France Travail (formerly Job centers) as a job seeker.
In order to qualify for this scheme, one of the following situations must apply:
- Either be a jobseeker or beneficiary of the return to work (ARE) allowance at the time of takeover or company creation
- Either be an employee without a job: in this case, you have to start or take over a company after the end of his employment contract and have terminated a reclassification leave or to a mobility leave. You have to register as a jobseeker.
The creator or buyer of a company has 2 options :
- Either accumulate each month his self-employed income with a part of his allowance to help him return to work (ARE)
- Either opt for Arce, which corresponds to the payment of part of the ARE duties, as capital.
FYI
The option for Arce does not allow to validate basic retirement quarters. On the other hand, the option to continue to receive ARE allows to benefit from assimilated periods, taken into account for the validation of retirement quarters.
To benefit from the Arce, the creator or buyer must complete the 3 conditions following:
- Credit Memo created or resumed a company in France after the end of his employment contract
- Benefit from the return to work (ARE) allowance
- Benefit from support for company creators and buyers (Acre), which is a system of partial exemption from social security contributions for 1 year.
The amount of the Arce is equal to 60% of the remaining capital of the rights to the return to work (ARE) allowance.
A deduction from the participation of 3% for the financing of supplementary pensions is applied to the amount of the capital.

The Arce payment is made in two stages:
- One 1er payment, equal to half aid, is carried out when the activity begins.
- One 2nd payoutt intervenes 6 months after the date of the first payment.
To benefit from this second payment, 2 conditions must be completed:- Demonstrate that theself-employment still exists, by means of any documentary evidence (in particular a certificate of honor or any other document requested by France Travail).
- Not to be employed on a full-time permanent employment contract (CDI). This condition must be justified by a certificate on the honor of not having a full-time CDI job. It is also verified by France Travail using data from the DSN.
Warning
From 1er September 2026 this condition does not apply to the creators or purchasers of a SCOP when they work in their CDI SCOP full-time.
To obtain Arce, the jobseeker must:
- Fill out an Arce application with France Travail (formerly Job center)
- Provide France Travail with proof of the creation or takeover of a company under the Acre scheme. This can be a proof of registration in the National Register of companies (RNE) or a extract K or K-bis whether the company is engaged in a commercial activity
Proof of registration in the RNE may be obtained in one of the following ways:
In the event of the cessation of the activity set up after the second payment of the Arce, it is possible to benefit from a resumption of the ARE allowance. Indeed, the amount of the Arce is 60% ARE rights. So he stays 40% ARE rights.
To be eligible for ARE again, it is necessary to re-register as a jobseeker. The ARE is paid again after a delay (i.e. a delay) has been applied. This delay corresponds to the number of allowances received during the 2nd installment of the Arce.
Example :
A second installment of the Arce is paid on 12 August 2026 and corresponds to 3 months of benefits daily. The resumption of the ARE payment will take place 3 months after or November 12.
