New obligations for health carriers

The law on the fight against tax and social fraud establishes a geolocation obligation for medical vehicles, including ambulances and taxis contracted with the Health Insurance. The goal is to be able to better control their journeys. Undertake Public Service explains.

The Fraud Act provides for new obligations for health carriers whose objective is to combat certain frauds concerning patient transport (forged journeys and invoices).

They also make it possible to verify the conformity of the billing with respect to the journey made. In this sense, health carriers will have to:

  • use on theall their vehicles a geolocation system certified by the Health Insurance during their journeys;
  • set up a syste-th integrated billing.

The entry into force of this new arrangement shall be fixed at the latest by 1er January 2027.
